The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning the public about counterfeit acetaminophen medications being sold in sari-saris or small stores.
Is it safe to use paracetamol in combination with ibuprofen?
The agency received reports of widespread sale of counterfeit paracetamol and other medicines.
In an interview with Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, FDA spokesperson Pamela Sevilla said taking fake acetaminophen medications can lead to infections and death.
“Counterfeiting is defined as anything that can result in the reduction of the safety, quality, strength and purity of a product,” she said on Thursday (Aug. 1).
