Universal Pictures' Five Nights at Freddy's is based on the popular video game series by Scott Cawthon and was released in theaters in October 2023. The film, directed by Emma Tammi, stars Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, while Piper Rubio plays Mike's sister, Abby, and Elizabeth Lail plays a police officer named Vanessa.

It has been confirmed that a sequel is in development following the huge box office success of Five Nights at Freddy's. Filming for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 will now begin in New Orleans in about three weeks.

Speaking to Esquire, Hutcherson discussed what fans can expect from the Five Nights at Freddy's sequel.
