Forbidden Love is a brand new TLC series that follows four couples in love. There’s just one catch: the couples come from different faiths. One partner in each couple has either converted to another religion or has decided to renounce their family and culture.

Relationships are tested as they confront intense traditional divides. In the trailer above, Lensa, a Muslim woman, falls for Chris, the son of a Pentecostal preacher. “A house divided cannot stand,” a woman declares in the footage.

For Eli and Laurie, the “only way” their relationship will survive is if she converts to Judaism. Another couple, Ashley and Mohammad, are struggling with similar issues. “So you think I can’t be a good wife if I’m not Muslim?” she asks. Mohammad quickly replies, “Yes.”

During a tense argument, Lindsey emphasizes to Elmer that she doesn't want to be just an "Amish housewife" and "babymaker" for him. "Being married to an Amish man is very different than I expected," Lindsey admits.
