Fox host fears socialist will win after GM layoffs
Fox Entertainment is the latest media company to make staff cuts, eliminating 30 positions on Thursday. The cuts are part of the company's restructuring of content and operations into three groups — Fox Television Network, Fox Entertainment Studios and sales arm Fox Entertainment Global — announced in March.
The layoffs affect employees across all three divisions, with the first two led by Michael Thorn (network) and Fernando Szew (studios). The search for a new head of worldwide content sales is ongoing, with Tony Vassiliadis leading the team in the interim.
Names are already starting to emerge: SVP Corporate Communications Les Eisner this afternoon informed his press contacts of his departure from the company.
