Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino has called on political leaders to stop playing politics and instead focus on addressing the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina.

Tolentino made the appeal after Senator Robin Padilla asked him to resign from the PDP party. Padilla, the new chairman of the Duterte-led party, believed that Tolentino's departure from the PDP party would help avoid questions of bias in political issues.
“Sa panahong ito wag muna tayong magusap patungkol sa pulitika,” the senator said.
“Mas mainam magtulungan tayo para mapadali ang rehabilitasyon ng mga kababayan nating biktima ng Bagyong Carina lalung-lalo nayong mga nasa mga evacuation centers pa in may mga karamdaman,” he said.
