“Once considered one of the worst and most stressful airports in the world, it will soon be a world-class international airport that we can be proud of,” Marcos stressed in his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday (July 22).
New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), led by San Miguel Corp., will operate and maintain the country’s main gateway starting in September after it secured a PHP170.6 billion public-private partnership (PPP) modernization project for the renovation of NAIA.
Through the government’s partnership with the consortium, NAIA is now poised for revitalization, Marcos said. The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is the current operator of the airport.
