XYZ Films has officially signed Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Shotgun Wedding) and Lukas Gage (Dead Boy Detectives) to star in Full Throttle Mindset, described as a darkly comedic crime thriller. The film is based on Doyle Murphy's St. Louis Riverfront Times article "The Long, Violent Fall of Tanning Mogul Todd Beckman."

In addition to Full Throttle Mindset , Duhamel will soon be seen opposite Zachary Levi in the upcoming survival thriller Not Without Hope . Meanwhile, Gage will be seen in the highly anticipated horror sequel Smile 2 and the sci-fi thriller Companion with Jack Quaid.
"Described as a gonzo cautionary tale of misguided American dreams and shady mentors, the film tells the wild true story of young burnout Blake Laubinger (Gage), who is taken under the wing of a Midwestern tanning salon magnate named Todd Beckman (Duhamel)," the film's initial synopsis reads. "He soon discovers that his new mentor's businesses are a front for a drug empire — one he's now expected to join."
Full Throttle Mindset is directed by Patrick Brice from a screenplay by Jake Disch. The film is produced by XYZ Films, with John Baker and Robby O'Connor serving as producers. Production is expected to begin sometime this year.
