Although Frozen Empire received mixed reviews from critics, it appears that Sony Pictures is still looking to expand the franchise. During a recent interview, Kenan confirmed that fans can expect more Ghostbusters films in the future. Additionally, he also spoke out about Netflix's upcoming Ghostbusters animated series, hinting that the show could feature intersecting stories within the franchise.
"The answer is yes, Jason [Reitman]… we take the responsibility and the joy of shepherding the Ghostbusters flame very seriously," Kenan said (via TheDirect). "We will absolutely continue the conversation about telling great Ghostbusters stories on the big screen. And stay tuned. There's more to come. More on that later."
He continued, "And I've talked recently about the fact that we're very actively developing our animated series that we're producing with Netflix. That's something that I'm actively involved in, Jason, on a daily basis right now, and we're very excited about the stories that are being told there, and the way that it intersects with the Ghostbusters stories that you and I love is going to be exciting for our audience."
