The Gabriela Women's Party expressed shock at actress Angeli Khang's revelations about her experiences in the film industry.

“Her admission that she felt ‘exploited’ while filming for Vivamax films is a manifestation of the widespread exploitation that women still face,” said Sarah Elago, Gabriela’s legislative advisor for young women’s affairs.

“We are alarmed by Ms. Khang’s revelation that she often felt violated during filming, with fellow actors overstepping boundaries and initiating intimate scenes without direction from the director, making her feel violated,” added Elago, who was a former Kabataan party-list representative in the House of Representatives.

Elago said Gabriela will raise the issue when the House Appropriations Committee deliberates on the budget of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
