The Supreme Court has begun consultations on the proposed revision of the Rules of Criminal Procedure.
What is procedural justice?
The SC Public Information Office (SCPIO) reported on Saturday (August 10) that the Supreme Court began the first phase of consultations in Lipa City, Batangas on August 8.
During the consultations, Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo said the rules of criminal procedure “must evolve to reflect the realities of our times, and to ensure that they remain powerful tools for the fair, transparent and timely delivery of justice to both the accused individuals and the state.”
Gesmundo pointed out that “technology plays a very important role in the administration of justice” and said that “adapting to technology has already become a necessity.”
