Prime Video has halted production on the final season of 'Good Omens.' The decision comes two months after series creator and showrunner Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Neil Gaiman writes a strong message for those with questions about the story of Good Omens season 3
The series, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the angel-demon BFF duo, was preparing to film in Scotland before the streamer decided to pause production to consider changes. Amazon declined to comment.
“Good Omens,” based on the 1990 novel Gaiman co-wrote with Terry Pratchett, is the latest Gaiman adaptation to lose steam amid allegations of sexual abuse against the author. Last week, it was reported that “The Graveyard Book,” a feature film adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 novel with Marc Forster attached to direct, had halted development at Disney.
A July report from Tortoise Media accused Gaiman of sexually abusing a then-18-year-old woman (referred to as K) in 2003, and a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett in 2022. Gaiman has denied any unlawful conduct with K. Scarlett alleges Gaiman sexually abused her in a bathtub at his New Zealand home, where she was working as a nanny for his child. The latter incident led to a police complaint against Gaiman in New Zealand, where an investigation by authorities is currently underway.
