NFL star Travis Kelce must have taken some acting lessons in between winning back-to-back Super Bowls, because he finally makes his acting debut in Ryan Murphy's "Grotesquerie."
GROTESQUERIE Trailer (2024) Niecy Nash, Travis Kelce
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end stars opposite Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Raven Goodwin in the FX series, debuting Wednesday, September 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX. The 10-episode series will stream on Hulu the following day.
Kelce's role in the murder mystery series is being kept under wraps, but Nash-Betts will play Detective Lois Tryon, who investigates a series of gruesome murders — as the series' title suggests — with the help of a nun-turned-journalist named Sister Megan (Diamond).
The logline teases, "A series of horrific crimes have left a small community reeling. Detective Lois Tryon finds the crimes eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. At home, Lois struggles with a strained relationship with her daughter, a long-term hospitalized husband, and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan, a nun and journalist at the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own troubled past, has seen the worst of humanity, but she still believes in humanity's ability to do good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is being destroyed by evil. As Lois and Sister Megan piece together clues, they become entangled in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers."
