EO 64, signed by Marcos on August 2, covers all civilian government employees in the executive, legislative and judiciary branches, constitutional commissions and other constitutional functions.
Under the new EO, there will also be a wage increase for employees of government-owned corporations (GOCCs) not covered under Republic Act (RA) 10149 or the GOCC Governance Act of 2011, as well as for all employees of local government units (LGUs) regardless of their appointment status.
Marcos ordered a salary increase for government employees to “attract, retain and engage high-performing civil servants.”
