An interview clip has surfaced from last year's New York Comic Con, in which the British director claimed he dropped out of X-Men 3 (released in 2006) after Berry was given a fake script to entice her to sign.
The Daily Mail newspaper reports that Berry responded to Vaughn's cheating allegation with a post on Instagram, writing: "You never know what dark s— is going on behind your back! Thank you Matthew Vaughn for bringing the darkness to light."
The Oscar-winning actress previously played Storm in the hit franchise from its debut in 2000, including the original and its sequels.
