Aug 2 (Reuters) – Harris' campaign said on Friday it raised $310 million in July, thanks to small donations that poured into its war chest after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

The July total — more than double the $138.7 million raised by Republican rival Donald Trump in the same month — brings the total raised by Harris and Biden before her to more than $1 billion, the fastest a presidential campaign has ever crossed that threshold, the campaign said.
July was set to be a disappointing month for Democrats as major donors withheld money in an attempt to push Biden out of the race. But Harris’s rise as the party’s presidential nominee energized voters and donors.
More than $200 million of the $310 million was raised in the first week after Biden endorsed Harris, the campaign said.
