Jeremy Allen White is set to play Springsteen and Scott Cooper is directing the biopic, which tells the story of the making of Springsteen's classic album Nebraska. Paul Walter Hauser is also on board.
In April, the studio struck a deal to finance and distribute the film. The film follows the rock 'n' roll icon who, after battling personal demons and trying to become a global superstar, wrote and recorded Nebraska. The 1982 album rivals Joni Mitchell's Blue as one of the most emotionally raw, dark and honest albums in recent music history.
Scott Stuber is taking over as Netflix Film chief for the first time since stepping down, and will now produce with Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Gotham Group's Eric Robinson.
