Harvey Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in New York City on Sunday night for emergency heart surgery after being held at Rikers Island and complaining of chest pains.

According to Weinstein's reps Craig Rothfeld and Juda Engelmayer, "Mr. Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital last night for various medical conditions. We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein underwent a procedure and surgery on his heart today, but cannot comment further."
They added: "As we have extensively stated before, Mr. Weinstein suffers from a plethora of serious health conditions that require ongoing treatment. We are grateful to the management team at the New York City Department of Corrections and Rikers Island for acting quickly to transport him to Bellevue Hospital," they said.
Weinstein is due to appear in court in New York this week. Prosecutors are working to secure a new indictment against Weinstein on sex crimes charges. Weinstein is undergoing medical care at Rikers.
