HER will sing the U.S. national anthem as part of the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris on Sunday. The Aug. 11 event marks the official handover of hosting duties from Paris to Los Angeles.

The Grammy- and Oscar-winning R&B singer's selection was announced during NBC's coverage of the games last night, when special correspondent and Olympic enthusiast Snoop Dogg dropped the news. "Can I just announce who's going…? Well, I'm a fan of HER, and I would love for HER to sing the national anthem." He then confirmed that HER would be singing the anthem.
