UPDATED with new release date: Sony said Tuesday that it will now open Miramax's Here, the reteaming of Forrest Gump filmmaker Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, on Nov. 1. It's the only studio release to receive wide release on that day after Samuel Goldwyn's Liam Neeson title Absolution , Viva's animated Hitpig , and the George Huang-directed Luke Evans film Weekend in Taipei . There's no word on Here securing a spot at the Toronto, Venice, and Telluride film festival troika in the fall .

Earlier, June 21: Sony announced Friday that the new film Here, which reunites the director, writer and stars of the classic Forrest Gump, will premiere on November 15 via TriStar Pictures.

The film was previously scheduled for an exclusive screening in Los Angeles and New York on that date, with limited and wide releases on November 22 and 27, respectively. Other titles set to release in the new frame include A24's horror thriller Heretic starring Starring Hugh Grant, which we first reported on; Amazon's holiday event film Red One starring Dwayne Johnson; and an untitled Christmas film from IFC Films.
