The House Finance Committee will summon officials of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to give a briefing on the reported scheme of fake receipts that some businesses allegedly used to reduce the taxes they were required to pay.
Don't buy fake receipts
The briefing is intended to give lawmakers a broader view of how Benterprise International Inc., a subsidiary of World Balance, is linked to Bernard Chong.
The panel is also expected to discuss the measures taken by the BIR and examine what other measures are needed to end the use of false receipts to evade tax payments.
As with previous briefings and hearings, the Finance Committee is expected to livestream the meeting on social media.
