The House of Representatives on Monday passed three resolutions congratulating and praising the Filipino athletes who won the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, and the entire Philippine delegation.

The House also awarded the Congressional Medal of Distinction to bronze medalists Nesthy Alcayde Petecio and Aira Cordero Villegas.
Last week, the House awarded Carlos Yulo, who won two gold medals in gymnastics, the Congressional Medal of Excellence. It is the highest honor given to Filipino achievers in sports, business, medicine, science, and arts and culture.
Aside from the three, the Philippines was represented at the Paris Olympics by Aleah Finnegan, Emma Malabuyo and Levi Ruivivar for artistic gymnastics; Hergie Bacyadan, Carlo Paalam and Eumir Marcial for boxing; Ernest John Obiena, John Cabang-Tolentino and Lauren Hoffman for track and field; Vanessa Sarno, John Febuar Ceniza and Elreen Ann Ando for weightlifting; Joanie Delgaco for rowing; Samantha Catantan for fencing; Kayla Sanchez and Jarod Hatch for swimming; Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina for golf; and Kiyomi Watanabe for judo.
