House leaders welcomed the US pledge of $500 million in military funding to the Philippines.

Quezon City Vice President David Suarez, Manila City Assistant Majority Leader Ernesto Dionisio Jr., and Surigao del Norte City Commission on Dangerous Drugs Chairman Robert Ace Barbers said the aid will help the Philippines defend its territory and sovereignty.

Suarez said the US's unwavering support for the Philippines regardless of the election outcome strengthens the long-standing, rock-solid relationship between the two countries

“I think it is possible to establish a halal in the United States in November to achieve a great result, which can lead to a great change,” Suarez said.
