During Monday’s plenary session, House of Representatives Senior Vice President and Pampanga Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. announced the Secretariat’s correction.
“The Chair would like to make it known that he has been informed by the Secretariat of a correction in the outcome of the nominal vote on Bill No. 9349 or the Absolute Divorce Bill that the body approved in third reading on May 22, 2024,” said Gonzales, who chaired the session.
"Based on the Secretariat's assessment of all votes cast on the said bill, the final validated result of the nominal vote on bill 9349 indicated 131 instead of 126 affirmative votes, 109 negative votes and 20 abstentions. In view of this, the reports reflect the said result," he added.
