The issuance of an arrest warrant came as a result of the contempt of court order issued by the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs against Yang, also known as Hong Ming Yang.
“In light of the attached CONTEMPT ORDER issued on July 10, 2024, by the Committee on Dangerous Drugs against HONG MING YANG, aka MICHAEL YANG, you are hereby ordered to APPREHEND and HOLD HONG MING YANG, aka MICHAEL YANG, in contempt of the House of Representatives for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days, pursuant to said rules in support of legislation passed by the 19th Congress,” the warrant reads.
The order was signed by House Committee on Dangerous Drugs Chairman and Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers and House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.
