Welcome back, House of the Dragon fans, to House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7. Can we? Did we make any progress in this week’s episode? After going in circles for most of the season, HOD finally got down to business and delivered the kind of thought-provoking spectacle I’ve been waiting for.
House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
That’s not to say this season has been bad; it’s just been incredibly dull and more than a little disappointing, especially after the banger finale of Season 1. Either way, as a dedicated Marvel fan, one good chapter and I’ll be back with the team. Team Black, that is.
Not much happens for the Greens this episode. Alicent whines about her plight, noting that she’s given everything to the empire and gotten nothing in return. Aemond’s abrupt dismissal last week has shattered her self-esteem, leaving her to wander around the castle and occasionally float in a nearby river, presumably reminiscing about the good old days of carefree sex with Ser Criston Cole.
I don’t have much empathy for Alicent. Sure, she was thrust into a challenging situation, but King Viserys treated her well and she enjoyed modest success. Her child sits on the Iron Throne largely because of her actions. Isn’t this what she wanted?
