Log stakes are a ubiquitous item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but you won't find any log stakes lying around your island. You'll have to go looking for them, though, because log stakes are craftable.
How to Get Log Poles for the Bridge Construction Kit | Animal Crossing New Horizons
To craft log poles, you’ll need three pieces of regular wood. You probably already have some wood in your inventory, but if you run out, just whack a tree a few times with a weak axe and you’re ready to start crafting.
After you have collected at least three normal pieces of wood, you will go to a workbench. If you have not set one up at home, you can use the bench at Resident Services.
In the crafting table menu, go to the Household Items tab and select Log Poles.
