Huw Edwards asked to repay £200,000 of BBC salary
Huw Edwards picked up his biggest paycheck since 2019 during his final year at the BBC, despite the newsreader taking an eight-month break from TV amid a misconduct scandal.
The BBC's annual report shows that Edwards earned a whopping £480,000 ($620,000) in the 12 months to March 2024, his highest salary since 2019, when he raked in a whopping £495,000.
Edwards signed a new contract with the BBC early last year, presenting coverage of the coronation of King Charles III. This explains why his salary has risen by around £40,000, compared with the £440,000 he took home in 2023.
