What's going on with I Am Legend 2? First announced in March 2022, things have been quiet since then, but writer and producer Akiva Goldsman promised "good news coming soon."
No director has yet been assigned for the sequel. Francis Lawrence directed the first part, a huge box office hit that grossed more than half a billion dollars worldwide in 2007.
Wait, didn't Will Smith's character die at the end? "We're doing an alternate version sequel," Goldsman says. "Where Will is alive and things aren't going well for humanity."
