Earlier this year, it was announced that a new I Know What You Did Last Summer film would be released in July 2025. It will be the fourth official film in the horror franchise, and it has been confirmed that Freddie Prinze Jr. will reprise his role as Ray Bronson in the upcoming sequel.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is married to Prinze Jr., also played Helen Shivers in the franchise. While there were rumors that she would also return for the new film, Gellar confirmed to PEOPLE that her character remains "dead."
However, she did reveal that she has an unofficial, unknown role in the new film I Know What You Did Last Summer.
