IATSE is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, becoming the first Hollywood union to speak out on the presidential election after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

The union called Biden's administration "the most pro-union administration in history" in a statement released Monday morning, acknowledging that Harris "has played a critical role in delivering groundbreaking policies and legislation on behalf of IATSE workers."

Some of the steps she has taken as vice chair that IATSE considers critical to its members include casting a decisive vote in the Senate to pass the American Rescue Plan Act, the trillion-dollar COVID-19 stimulus package.

She is also active on the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment, where she solicits IATSE input into executive action and advocates for the union's organizing success.
