Harry Pinero on Little Simz and the importance of representation | The BRIT Awards 2022
Idris Elba, Maya Jama and Little Simz have signed on as producers for the transfer of Bush Theatre's production of "Shifters" to London's West End. The trio join Eleanor Lloyd Productions, Chuchu Nwagu Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions to bring Benedict Lombe's romance from West London's Bush Theatre to the Duke of York's Theatre in London.
The play is written by Lombe ("Lava," winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize) and directed by Evening Standard Theatre Award winner Lynette Linton ("Blues for an Alabama Sky," "August in England"). It will run for a limited run of nine weeks, from August 12 through October 12.
“Shifters” stars Heather Agyepong (“School Girls; or, The African Mean Girls Play”) and Tosin Cole (“Supacell,” “Doctor Who”), reprising their roles from the original Bush Theatre production.
