Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco on Thursday (July 25) voiced his support for prioritizing the proposed Immigration Law Modernization Act.

“This law is crucial to improving our border security and promoting tourism and investment in the Philippines,” Tansingco said.
The Commissioner pointed out that the BI currently operates under the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.
“Updating our immigration laws is crucial to effectively combat human trafficking, illegal recruitment and other transnational crimes,” the Commissioner said.
