As expected on Friday, Nicolas Cage's Longlegs, which grossed $6.7 million from 2,730 theaters over the weekend (for a total of $58.6 million in week 3), surpassed Parasite's $53.37 million to become the independent distributor's highest-grossing film ever.

Now in week 3, the Osgood Perkins film is also the highest-grossing R-rated horror film of 2024 and the highest-grossing indie horror film of the past decade, surpassing A24’s Talk To Me, Universal’s Focus’ Insidious Chapter 3 and A24’s Hereditary. It is No. 5 at the domestic box office.
Also in wide release, Bleecker Street estimates The Fabulous Four will gross just over $1 million in its opening weekend on 1,045 screens. Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, it stars Susan Sarandon, Megan Mullally and Sheryl Lee Ralph as a group of lifelong friends who travel to Key West to be bridesmaids at the surprise wedding of their best friend from college, played by Bette Midler. It peaked at No. 8 at the weekend box office.
In limited release, Focus Features’ 2024 Sundance Audience Award winner Dìdi grossed $200,000 from five locations for a strong $40,000-per-theater average, one of the three best limited openings of the year. It holds a 95% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes with an early audience score of 100%. Sean Wang’s film will continue its slow platform release next weekend, adding about 50 theaters.
