Ingrid Andress: 'I was drunk' while singing the national anthem
Country music artist Ingrid Andress has apologized for her difficult performance of the national anthem at last night's annual MLB Home Run Derby, revealing that she was "drunk" and is checking into rehab.
"I'm not kidding you, I was drunk last night," she wrote on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). "I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. I was not drunk last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans and this country I love for that performance. I'll let you know what rehab is like. I hear it's super fun." She captioned the post, "xo, Ingrid."
Andress received harsh criticism for her performance. Her voice began to shake almost immediately, with some comparing it to Fergie's performance of the national anthem at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
