Patrick Warburton Talks The Duel, The Tick, and Turning Down a Seinfeld Spinoff | Interview
"When Woody (Mcauliffe) discovered his best friend, Colin (Sprouse), was having an affair with his girlfriend, he decided that no amount of modern revenge would ever satisfy him. Instead, Woody challenges his closest companion to a classic match of honor: a duel to the death between gentlemen. When two of their friends join the act, the once inseparable group of men find themselves ever closer to their fateful day, and the bonds of their relationship are tested to the point of no return," the synopsis reads.
Tyler Treese: The Duel is very unconventional, it’s quirky. So you’re just the perfect cherry on top of the cake playing a dueling emporium owner. I didn’t know that existed. What a great job title. So what really appealed to you about this role in this film?
Patrick Warburton: Well, I actually knew that Christof initially – I’m going to talk about my character for a moment – he was a curious person and not so much a dueling emporium owner as Denny [Love]’s character called it. He’s a fanatic when it comes to historical antiques. There’s a subgenre, which is dueling. It’s obviously not really promoted on social media. It’s a word-of-mouth thing underground that if you want a duel, an old-fashioned duel with flintlock rifles [you call] Christof.
