Intuit Dome Officially Opens in Inglewood
The state-of-the-art Intuit Dome opened its doors for the first time last night in Inglewood, California. But the high-tech equipment proved reluctant during its first live test.
Grammy winner Bruno Mars was the star attraction on the venue's opening night, which was set to host the first of two concerts. Although Mars was scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m., the show was delayed until just before 10 p.m. after thousands of people were forced to wait outside.
The arena, which cost an estimated $2 billion to build, was financed by Microsoft CEO and current Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, making the technical issues all the more surprising.
