Renowned showrunner Shane Byrne and Emmy-winning producer Jamie D’Alton, two of Ireland’s leading television executives, have partnered to form Diffusion Media, a new production company that aims to bring international, unscripted productions to Ireland and take advantage of Ireland’s renowned tax incentives for the unscripted production sector.

D’Alton, who has played a pivotal role in developing projects including the Netflix documentary “The Deepest Breath” and “Conor McGregor: Notorious,” the highest-grossing Irish documentary of all time, is launching Diffusion after nearly 20 years as co-owner and joint CEO of Motive Television. D’Alton is executive producer and director of some of Ireland’s highest-rated television shows, including “DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland” and “Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week,” as well as the IFTA-winning films “I Am Immigrant” and “Man on a Mission.”
Meanwhile, Byrne, who has a wealth of industry experience in the US, UK and Ireland, having produced formats such as 'Big Brother', 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent', leaves his role as head of entertainment at Bigger Stage. In his previous role, Byrne oversaw a number of US unscripted productions filmed in Ireland for Fox Entertainment including; 'The Floor', 'Don't Forget The Lyrics', 'Next Level Chef', 'Beat Shazam' and 'Name That Tune', of which Byrne was showrunner for four consecutive seasons.
