National Unity Party (NUP) chairman and Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte has called on the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to postpone the rescheduling of airlines that have caused inconvenience to passengers.

Villafuerte noted that the Schedule and Terminal Assignment Rationalization (STAR) has worsened rather than improved passenger congestion at the terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
“With passenger lines reportedly getting longer at NAIA departure terminals, airport officials should take a pause on their STAR program, pending a serious rethink of the new initiative ostensibly designed to ease the annoying airport congestion that has long inconvenienced passengers and tourists,” Villafuerte said.
Villafuerte commended MIAA for its efforts to address airport congestion, which is negatively affecting the country’s aviation and tourism sectors. At the same time, he stressed the need to revert to the previous allocations of airlines at the four NAIA terminals until the evaluation and refinement of the new STAR program is completed.
