Jack the Ripper's Last Victim | Mary Jane Kelly
Jack the Ripper is undeniably one of the most famous serial killers in history. Several reports indicate that he murdered multiple women between August and November 1888. However, some claim that he murdered even more victims and ended his killing spree in 1892. Authorities investigated the murders and claimed that the killer was linked to five victims. Although he murdered all of his victims in gruesome ways, it is reported that her last victim, Mary Jane Kelly, suffered one of the brutal deaths. However, a few years ago, the British government gave permission for her remains to be exhumed after a wild theory emerged.
According to The Telegraph, in 2015, the British Ministry of Justice noted that it would allow the exhumation of the remains of Jack the Ripper's final victim, Mary Kelly. After reading a theory written by Dr. Wynne Weston-Davies in his book, the ministry decided to exhume her remains. The outlet reported that the serial killer's real name was Francis Spurzheim Craig, and that he killed Mary Kelly as an "act of revenge."
The author claimed that Kelly was his wife who secretly returned to prostitution after their marriage, which is why Craig killed her. Although authorities had denied all previous requests to exhume Mary Kelly's body, Weston-Davies believed that his family ties to Kelly, who could also have been Craig's great-uncle, could have been the reason for the request to conduct DNA testing to be accepted.
