Last month, director Roland Emmerich surprised people by calling James Cameron overbearing in Emmerich's attempt to remake the 1966 sci-fi film Fantastic Voyage. This week, Cameron responded to the filmmaker.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Cameron was asked about Emmerich's comments, specifically when he called Cameron controlling. The legendary filmmaker said he'd never said anything negative about Roland, but confirmed that he was controlling, especially on a project he helped write.
“I’ve never said anything negative about Roland. But then again, I’m controlling. Damn it,” Cameron said. “If it’s a project I was involved in, I might have an opinion about it. I don’t even remember talking to Roland Emmerich about Fantastic. I remember the other directors we worked with for months trying to develop that project. If I did talk to Roland, it was only for two minutes. I have a pretty good memory and I don’t remember that at all.”
The director wouldn't say whether the film is still in development, but he did elaborate in the interview.
