EXCLUSIVE: James Morosini, the filmmaker behind the SXSW Award-winning I Love My Dad, has found his next project in Mommy's Home, a psychological horror film he wrote and directs for Lionsgate.

The story follows a young father whose family life spirals out of control when his 24-year-old mother is thawed out decades after being cryogenically preserved.
Producers include Craig Flores, Dawn Olmstead and Anonymous Content. David Levine, Garrett Kemble and Ryan Schwartz will executive produce for Anonymous Content, while Scott O'Brien and Jon Humphrey will oversee the project for Lionsgate. Dan Freedman negotiated deals on behalf of the studio, and casting for the film is set to begin soon.
Morosini is best known for writing, directing, and starring in the comedy I Love My Dad, which won both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award when it premiered at SXSW in 2022 before being distributed by Magnolia Pictures. The film, based on a true story, centers on a father who catfishes his estranged son on Facebook. He starred opposite Patton Oswalt, Lil Rel Howery, Amy Landecker, Claudia Sulewski, and Rachel Dratch.
