Jamie Lee Curtis revealed on Kevin Hart's SiriusXM podcast "Gold Minds" (via Entertainment Weekly) that she asks film crews to wear name tags to help maintain uniformity on her film and TV sets. The Oscar winner and current Emmy nominee for "The Bear" said her goal is to eliminate the "hierarchy" that inherently exists on set between actors and crew, since everyone usually already knows the actors' names.
"There's something very unequal about our position on a set, on a movie, in this arena," Curtis told Hart. "You know our names, we don't know yours. There's something unfair about it to me… If we were all working together on a movie set, we'd all wear name tags, so tomorrow when we come in, I could say, 'Good morning [Sabine]' and not even […] think about it, because I've learned her name."
"I just want it to be honest, because it's important," Curtis added. "It's art — there's no hierarchy in art. It's supposed to be a group of people."
