The Jurassic World franchise is ushering in a new era with the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth, which marks the end of the series’ story arc that starred Chris Pratt. Despite being the final installment in Pratt’s trilogy, Jurassic World Dominion also helped reintroduce several characters from Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 Jurassic film. In addition to Sam Neill and Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm also made a surprise return to the franchise via Dominion. However, in a recent conversation, Jeff Goldblum denied that he could appear in 2025’s Jurassic World Rebirth.

The Independence Day star has stated that he is not optimistic about his role in the upcoming Jurassic film.
Goldblum revealed his vision for battling yet another branch of theatrical dinosaurs during an interview with Total Film. While talking about a possible cameo in Jurassic World Rebirth, the actor said, "I think Ian Malcolm might have ridden off into the sunset. Maybe."
Jeff Goldblum also voiced his support for the new cast of Jurassic World Rebirth. "This next one — my girlfriend, Scarlett Johansson, and my new boyfriend, Jonathan Bailey from Wicked, I think, are taking the reins," he said. "And I can't wait to see what they do. I think that's a good idea," Goldblum added.
