"Hollywood Lacks Honesty and Integrity" Jenna Ortega Criticizes Woke Hollywood
Jenna Ortega shared her thoughts with Vanity Fair about the intersection of Hollywood and politics, particularly how actors’ need to be politically correct often contributes to their loss of integrity. The actor left the “Scream” franchise last year, a day after her co-star Melissa Barrera was fired for social media posts about Israel and Palestine. Ortega cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for her departure.
“The business we’re in is so vague,” Ortega told Vanity Fair of Hollywood. “Everyone wants to be politically correct, but I feel like we lose a lot of our humanity and integrity in that, because it lacks honesty.”
“I wish we had a better sense of conversation,” she continued. “Imagine if everyone could say what they felt and not be judged for it and if it was anything, it would create some kind of debate, not an argument.”
