Jimmy Kimmel wants to help out his SAG-AFTRA colleagues again.
Jeff Goldblum Helps Young Actors Get Health Insurance
A recent casting call for Jimmy Kimmel Live! is asking for actors who just don’t qualify for health insurance. They must be within $1,401 of the minimum requirement to qualify for the role, according to a list currently circulating on social media and confirmed to Deadline by a source close to the production.
In 2023, SAG-AFTRA required members to earn at least $26,470 from acting to qualify for the union's health insurance. That number is expected to increase by 2% each year.
This isn’t the first time Kimmel has tried to lend a helping hand to working actors. Two years ago, Kerry Washington was a guest on an episode where actors were invited to deliver a line just to claim their health insurance.
