Kamala Harris makes surprise appearance at DNC, praises Joe Biden
“America, I love you,” President Joe Biden declared tonight in his speech on the first night of the Democratic National Convention, as delegates from across the country chanted “we love Joe!” over and over again.
Even though Biden quotes Irish poetry, he has never been considered a great orator. But on Monday, the 46th president of the United States delivered one of the best speeches of his long tenure in public life.
Combative, to the point and relatively concise for Biden, the farewell address had a task for the campaign. One that Biden clearly reveled in. Biden ripped his 2020 opponent Donald Trump as a “loser” and “a liar” and then complained how "sad" his predecessor "puts himself first and America last."
