Joe Biden said he has ordered an independent national security investigation at Donald Trump's rally "to look into exactly what happened" in the attempted assassination of the former president.

Much has been made of how the shooter gained access to the rooftop vantage point from which he could aim at Trump and the rally within the security perimeter.
Biden will also deliver a speech from the Oval Office from the White House tonight.
The president said he spoke with Trump, who was injured in the shooting, last night and that he is “healthy and recovering.”
