Joel Kinnaman wants DC Comics fans to believe that he will not reprise his role as Rick Flag Jr. in the HBO series Peacemaker.

Kinnaman first appeared in the DCEU film Suicide Squad in 2016 and reprised his role in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad in 2021.
Though Kinnaman's character was killed off in the 2021 film, he was rumored to appear in Gunn's Peacemaker Season 2, lending continuity to that timeline. Earlier this year, HBO series director Peter Sollett tagged Kinnaman in a show wrap post (later deleted), hinting that Rick Flag Jr. would appear in some way.
"I don't know what to say. That's ridiculous," Kinnaman jokingly told Screenrant of his return to the DC Universe. "I would never. I would never be on a show like that. That's not what I do. That's not what I do."
