John Carroll Lynch has been cast as a series regular opposite Maggie Q in Prime Video's Bosch spin-off Untitled Renée Ballard Series.
The new series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Q), who is tasked with leading the LAPD’s new Cold Case Unit—a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city. Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When her investigations uncover a larger conspiracy, she’ll rely on the help of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.
Lynch plays Thomas Laffont, a retired former police partner who returns to help Ballard run the department. A suave, experienced detective and crack interrogator — he’s a rock for Ballard.
