For three seasons, HBO/Max's "How To With John Wilson" chronicled the quirks, mysteries and sometimes just plain mundane aspects of life in New York City. "Quirky, mysterious and mundane" could also be a way to describe Hollywood's awards season — so it's perhaps no surprise that Wilson has an opinion on the matter.
Just in time for the start of Emmy Phase 2 voting, Wilson put together his primer on what it’s like to tread the awkward Emmy campaign trail. (Watch his “How To Emmy” video above.) He’s certainly seen it up close: “How To With John Wilson” is nominated for two Emmys this year, for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program (for which it also received a nomination in 2022).
